First Day of Semester Two

Today is the first day of the new term a.k.a. the first day of school which is also a.k.a. boredom for close to 7 hours. First things first. Yang Yang, that China girl who has been absent from school since the start of Term 1, has finally made an appearance. Her dressing was rather queer when I first laid eyes on her, which was at flag-rasing at 7.30 am. Her long hair was in pigtails, and she had on a white jacket with her flowery dress. People at the back of the class eg. me, looked at her in astonishment. Iris was told to look after her by Mdm. Yick.

Our new maths teacher (veryone protested and wanted Mrs Wong-Ng back. She IS a good teacher after all! :D) was Mr Ong. He actually has a blog! AND he was 15 minutes late as well. In the middle of his self-introduction, Yang Yang walked in, her hair tied back into a ponytail and in proper Nanyang uniform. Iris took her to the front of the class and formally introduced. It turns out she will only stay for 1 and a half months! I guess to get to know her, you've got to be quick!! Math was on Ratio and Proportion and we had a 'preview' on Scales & Maps, our next topic.

We just started speech training! I didn't know that pronouncing Chinese numbers was actually hard! And the different sounds. J, Q, S was the most difficult, according to our teacher, whom we just referred to as 'Lao Shi'. Half of the class went with the male teacher, while the other half went with the female one. Yay! Becks, Xiang Chuin and I were in the same group! I guess that Chinese Speech Training may turn out to be fun after all! All of us will be participating at some chinese speaking competition at the end of the year. Just the thought makes me nervous!

Next lesson will be Language Arts and that means... L.A. presentation! Eeks!!!!
