I <3 my math tuition teacher! She's so nice, with all her goodies and uber cute golden retriever! And she also helps me understand MATH. Sobs. She is just FANTASTICAL.

Yup went for math tuition at my new math teacher's house. She's called Christine but I really don't know what to address her by xD Anyway went to first saturday class and met these people from ASCI (IB) AND RJC. So smart. And the math they were doing was like, woah, COMPLICATED. Later, Christine told me that I'd be doing the SAME. When I got around to learning SURDS, INDICES AND LOGARITHMS. OH JOY. Should I be glad that what I'm learning now has not exceeded my capabilities????

Was picked up by my parents and sent to school to meet the omnipresent MICHELLE POH. She likes SEA GREEN. I know this because she said so herself and purposely picked the only SEA GREEN gummy bear from the packet I offered her. WHICH MEANS: SHE LIKES SEA GREEN. And once I read this email that defined people who liked sea green as HORNY. So, this defines mich to EXACTNESS, considering what she said about the ovulating episode -.-

Went to coro later on to buy a red and blue ball for our bio SIA. However, after walking round and round cold storage, we were dismayed to discover that they were NO red and blue balls to be found. And that was when we decided to use balloons instead. And so we walked one whole round around the 3 levels of coro, to NO AVAIL. But while there, we saw 2 french boys who were conversing in WONDERFUL, MARVELLOUS FRENCH, WITH A DELECTABLE PURE FRENCH ACCENT. The words that rolled off their tongues were like, SO BEAUTIFUL. My pathetic 2 years of french learning has not gifted me with such an accent. So saddening ): And their father is a GIANT. Seriously mega tall. Makes me feel short. But it must surely make mich feel even shorter. Poor girl :DD

After buying delicious BANANA CHOCOLATE BUBBLE TEAS, we were about to give up on the balloons, in walked LI HONG aka luphong the lup cheong, who is ponghong and lihommmm. Right into coro, and she didn't even notice us until we had walked right into her face. TUT. Anyway she was with her modern dance friends. And wherever we walked in coro, we kept walking into each other! It's like they wer, erhrm STALKING US. JKJK. Haha but its true that we were almost always walking to the same place. Anyway we asked lup hong for places that sold nice balloons. And she pointed us to KAP. So off we went again.

Michelle's phone is VERY LOSER. Randomly quoting ee hsien to suan mich for always suan-ning me about my low-tech phone =D She has ill-treated it to a stage where it is BEYONG REPAIR. Too many things have come loose and fallen out one way or another :DD

Anyway so we walked around KAP's NTUC. When we found the balloons, we came across this father and daughter pair who were speaking JAP. We were almost jumping for joy! The girl was only about 5 and super cute.

Father: speaking too fast to understand. WAKARIMASEN.

After finally purchasing the balloons, we grabbed a bite from Mac's and caught 74 back to school. Unfortunately mich realized she had to rush off for church and so we didn't even get to START on the bio SIA.

Anyway she was at the busstop and trying to snap unglam shots of me, wildly waving her phone to do so. The MANIAC. Sigh. What to do? I didn't ask for such a wacked-up friend. BUT I STILL LOVE YOU! :DDD

Super stressful day D: Math test was CRAP. Also had to rush chem ws 8 and 9, plus halfway through the day everyone realised that bio 4.2 was seriously DUE with no leniency from our teacher. There was a mad scramble to photocopy it and start DOING DOING DOING. Sooooo difficult to do, and had to go to Eunice for help. WHO HELPED. THANKS THANKS THANKS ARIGATO MERCI TERIMA KASIH XIEXIE I LOVE YOU! :DDDD

Now everyone has been rearranged and im sitting next to Lihong and Jiajun. Hahahahaha lihong is always constantly violated by nicolette and i. Ok this sounds wrong xD

Had a briefing on Global Classroom Programme and one more for parents later ie my dad. He felt cheated because the briefing was supposed to start at 5 but it turned out to be 6 and he had to wait around pointlessly doing NOTHING. And then he apparently had to endure a droning, boring and ill prepared talk (straight from his mouth!) from the principal. Haha wont argue with that! ;)

Livia says i dont post anything about her. So i shall :D

Livia has many cute things to say ie the 'my boyfriend' song, the 'buggy' game etc.
Livia and i have some sort of affinity. We were sitting next to each other during block tests, whether it be in class or in the room next to conference room c (the name escapes me).
Livia takes history. A FELLOW HISTORIAN! And fellow millionaire-on-paper because-of-stocks :DD

Played badminton in PE today. So so so so so FUN! <3 badminton! And my partner mich!

After school, there was a rush to clean the classroom for PTM. At first glance, it looked so spotless! Then i walked over to the cupboards at the back of the room, opened them, and my eyes nearly popped out of their sockets looking at the massive amount of stuff piled haphazardly ALL OVER. Some of which are mine,to be honest :D Anyway, I doubt our classroom was really used. OHWELLS.

Forgot to mention. Eewei has her own fanclub! It's called the i <3 eewei fanclub and was started by members of the student council in jurong sec. AHHAHAHAHAHA so funny when the whole class was crowded around a tiny computer terminal to read the words of lovesick boys and the actions their lovesickness induced........

BAD NEWS: I have been slacking.

GOOD NEWS: the show I am watching is worth the slacking. Its called Asunaro Hakusho. A really bygone serial, but it has KIMURA TAKUYA! Albeit a little nerdy, but SO YOUNG!!! The story is a tad frustrating though. Too many unsaid stuff and misunderstandings. And the people are just very morally wrong.

But still quite thought provoking. Hmmm...

Oh and HAPPY BIRTHDAY TINGSHAN! :)))

my aeroplane cloud dreams

BACK FROM HIATUS! :DDD

The worst of the block tests have been braved! But we're only half way through! So... LETS JIAYOU TOGETHER AND ACE THIS! :))

Okay back to point. After math (TERRIBLE!) and chem tests today, Alicia, Lup Hong, Pohpiah, Chehying and I went to Island Creamery. Actually, I wasn't going, because I was going to have lunch with my grandmother. And then, my mother... ALLOWED! MUMMY I LOVE YOU! And we just went to eat ice cream and talk and relax in what felt like some mega long time! It's seriously amazing how exams can inhibit your social life xD

Later Alicia had to double back to school for some thing :( AWW ALICIA COUNSELLORS ARE TOO BUSY! And jieying left early too. And so, three MPP plums were left. After walking randomly around Coro, we went to the supermarket to buy some weird thing to chomp on. Turns out luppy and mich are all attracted to STICKERS! And we were getting somewhat depressed because we couldn't find plums or anything REMOTELY plum when we chanced across... NATURE VALLEY! We bought one box and shared it. Lihong was so disappointed to pick PEANUT BUTTER and CINNAMON. I got Oats and Honey which made up for the Cinnamon (which was actually nice anyway).

We also went to the magazine section to browse, what else?, MAGAZINES! Best dressed, juicy topics, discussions about who's who, havent felt so girly and feminine in a really long time too! Then, while we were looking at one of the magazines, Mich spotted this older-looking man (about late 40s?) reading FHM. SERIOUSLY. With all those bikini clad models. And when it came to other news stuff, he just wasn't interested O.O We formulated a theory about how he couldn't buy them home... pointing to 'the' wife. Imagine a woman with a cane xD are middle-aged men pervs? One can only wonder...

And then, it was HOME. Which leads me to typing all this on a keyboard onto a monitor. YES what an interesting outing! And luphong and i are already planning PPP (plum plan preparation) for AFTER BLOCK TESTS. Going to BUGIS. With as many people as possible, to WALK WALK, TALK TALK, SHOP SHOP.

I have watched 2 movies in 2 days!

Going to become fat and unhealthy on popcorn! xD

Watched 'Sky of Love' yesterday with my mom and 'L: Change the World' today with my bro! Vastly different shows with vastly different popcorn xD

Sky of Love is supposed to be some super moving cellphone-book-turned-movie that moved 11 million to tears. For me I have no idea why it moves people to tears because the ending is rather APPARENT and CLICHED. But still, with the good looking male and female leads, this movie can be used in History classes for the purpose of using the past to educate the present people on the dangers of dating a THUG. And worse still, an ILL thug. And ill/sick does not even BEGIN to describe the relationship between the two leads. *SHOCKING* Anyway,I spent most of the movie hoping that male and female lead will get together in real life because they just look SO CUTE AND COMPATIBLE!!

On to L. AH I HAVE JUST RE REALIZED HOW CUTE KENICHI MATSUYAMA IS WITH KOHL LINED EYES AND TOUSLED HAIR!!

I HAVE A SHELTERED HOME THAT SMELLS PLEASANT.

I HAVE A COMPUTER.

I HAVE A WORKING TOILET.

I WILL NEVER TAKE THESE THINGS FOR GRANTED EVER EVER AGAIN.

I have kayaked for 8 hours.

I have trekked for 4 hours.

I haven't bathed in days.

Yes it was tough, it was exhausting, it was demoralising.

BUT IT WAS FUN.

So i have FINALLY REACHED BACK TO CIVILISATION. After 5 days in the almost wilderness. And so I shall recount my journey in obs.

Day 1
Was super high on the bus and boat ride. Crapping with luphong(lihong), pohpiah(mich), adalyn and phyllis about how we should NOT get a tan, unlike some people like ALICIA desperately wanting to develop one to PROVE that she has been to obs -.- Met our instructor Faisal and was in MARCO POLO with 314! <3 (don't ever refer to Marco Polo as MP, mich will just get ego, for obvious reasons)Oh ya and we were posted to camp 2. Wanted camp 1 but OHWELLS. Went kayaking. The kayaks were very heavy but I had so much fun paddling, swerving/zigzagging and capsizing with mich. SEE WE CAPSIZED ANYWAY. Took a bath and pitched tents until 12+

Day 2
TRUST. This pretty much sums up today. First, we held a mat which people had to fall onto. You had to trust that your groupmates would hold you up. THEY DID :DD Afterwards went rock climbing and learnt belaying. One had to believe that your groupmates would not let you fall while on that treacherous rock wall. THEY DIDNT :DD
Somewhat disappointed with myself for not being able to scale the curved part. Let go a few times and swung crazily back and forth like Jackie Chan. CONGRATS TO LIVIA AND CLARA FOR SCALING THE ROCK WALL SO QUICKLY & SO EASILY! Kayaked to some rocky beach where we pitched tents on the hard ground with rocks. Still quite successful. Saw Singapore across the sea and felt so homesick all of a sudden. HOW COME I COULDN'T GO BACK WHEN IT SEEMED SO NEAR? Mich saw Phyllis's, Clara's and mine butt all at one go while we had to pee. SO PERV RIGHT??? AIYO MICH IS SO SO SO SO NOT INNOCENT. During sentry duty, we had to guard the leftover food to ensure that the dogs did not steal it. Furthermore, there was this weird, strange Bollywood music playing loudly somewhere on the island. So freaky. NO BATH TODAY :(

Day 3
Went kayaking. Paired with POHPIAH again and paddled for 8 hours, covering 15 km. The area in the South China Sea was so darn choppy. We felt like we were covering no ground at all, our arms were aching and our spirits sank quite low. But, with much encouragement from Nila Utama as well as fellow Marco Polo-ians, we DID NOT YIELD. but also we paddled WAY AHEAD of the navigators. SORRY! Was shouted at to turn back a few times for getting too far ahead. Switched with Adalyn and Xuean to balance out. Laura had motion sickness along the way but SHE JUST KEPT PADDLING. I felt so motivated to go all the way. However, when we were almost at the next campsite, it started to RAIN. There was THUNDER. Everyone thought they were going to CAPSIZE and DIE. My vision was seriously blurred and obscured from the rain, which was like some curtain of wetness. So cold and fearful, yet strangely pushed to go on because i did not want to die in the sea. We made it eventually, drenched, freezing and disoriented. And we still had to put away our kayaks, get our bags in the speedboat and pitch our tents. AND IT WAS STILL POURING. I wanted to collapse and call it quits but what could i do? So Nila Utama, Raleign and Marco Polo worked together to form a human chain to bring the kayaks and bags on shore. Our instructors made hot milo for us, for without it we might have frozen to death or gotten hypothermia. Trudged to our next campsite. The MUDDIEST, WETTEST, SMELLIEST, SQUISHIEST, MOST DISGUSTING campsite i have ever laid eyes on. It was STILL pelting cats and dogs. We HAD to pitch tents still. They smelled really bad. Hoping they would dry, we left them and went to cook. Libin and I had experience with cooking rice so we were assigned to do just that. Waited forever in wet clothes for the rice to cook. But strangely, it was soft on the outside and hard on the inside. And we ran out of solid fuel tablets. Had to waste a whole pot of rice. Laura was cursing like mad, thinking of the starving african children. My heart pained to see lihong having to bury the inedible rice. Drenched and shivering, we were again denied the right to bathe. I REALLY REALLY MISS HOME, MY TOILET, MY SHOWER, MY BED! Kay Yun had stomach cramps. My heart just couldnt take the ache. At least the quarry jump lightened my spirits. It contained PURE RAINWATER and was accessible only by US. How cool is that? Anyway it was so clear that i could see my feet even after jumping in! My mind was just so peaceful then, in such a clear pool of water and idyllic scenery. The change to reality was harsh.

Day 4
The worst night ever. The tent smelt of pee and the whole time i was sleeping i was dreaming that i had to unpitch the tents and carry them across the sea in a kayak. I think yesterday just got to me. Wanted to cry so badly but reined the tears in, telling myself that there was just a trek away to a somewhat civilised place with a toilet and then it would be home. Woke up and realized that everything was in disarray. Clothes were strewn ANYWHERE and EVERYWHERE. It really really SMELLED. And i itched all over. But one still has to get up. So mich and i repacked all our stuff and unpitched the tent. And i realized that i have sandfly bites all over my arms. WHAT?! IS THAT INSECT REPELLANT AND POWDER NOT WORKING OR STH?!!! oor libin and livia were worse off. Their bites were so bad it looked as if they were having chicken pox :( Carried a tent bag and a stick of water bottles with alicia. During the trek, especially at the part where we could not find the checkpoint, i was just so frustrated at the load at my shoulders and the DAMN RAIN. It had been raining for 4 days straight. Walked and walked and walked for like forever to reach camp 2. There we were so overcome by emotion and happiness that many cried. AWW ALICIA WAS SO CUTE. She was so overcome tears just leaked out when we were singing 'Love Me' bu Colin Raye. What a side of alicia. LOVE. Had a proper bath and brushed my teeth. Slept in a dry tent. Gossiped and laughed with luphong, pohpiah and adalyn. How long since these were available to us?

Day 5
Scrapped my toe ): BUT WE WERE FINALLY GOING HOME. Kinda reluctant but still we had to go. Tabby was so brave today, to reach for that commitment. It was really the destination, the thought of survival and home that kept me going all along. obs was hard, but worthwhile. I have discovered so much about nature, my classmates and myself. It was exasperating, it was sad, it was exhilarating, it was just an experience no word can really describe. I will remember the teamwork, the twine bracelet, the bonding, the gopal stories.

That wraps up my obs experience nicely, i hope :))

Anyway today was Mentor's Tea. WE GOT INTO MPP!!!! OMGOMGOMGOMG. I was kinda disheveled and disfigured in the morning. AHH. A Dileenquent, A Luphong, A Pau and A Pohpiah all trooped off to attend the lecture. How fun was this?

Bernz didnt get in, much to the great disappointment of a certain lup cheong. He is NOT HOT can. And dont compare him to zaizai -.-

During one part of the presentation, the instruction booklet said of the roles of the mentors and the mentees: Do not get too close to the mentees (to avoid the mentees developing crushes on the mentors), do not meet after 1900 hours, have proper decorum and meet in a public place and not behind closed doors with the whole group and never a single individual. WTH. What do they think will happen?????? Our mentors were reasonably nice and the expert mentor had such a clear, resonant voice that we all fell in love with. OH MAN.

Dileen: His voice is MAGNIFICENT.

Went to KAP afterwards. They said that i was deprived! Deprived not to go to a 2-storey Macdonalds? I have been to one ok! But still super fun and memorable. Had a real girl talk with Luphong and Pohpiah.

TIME JUST FLEW BY.

I can blog now, but have to return to cca and studies sooner or later.

HOW CAN A HISTORY REFLECTION AND ADV LIT ESSAY BE DUE ON A SUNDAY? WHAT HAS THE WORLD COME TO?!?

Just to say, Dileen has this tendency to say "WAIT." super loud in class at the most inopportune times - when the class is dead quiet. Then this WAIT sort of rings around and everyone starts to laugh, esp a certain michelle who starts to bang her table while giggling -.- TSK who says you arent violent?

Jiao lian says that michelle was a demure girl. YA RIGHT. A demure girl who hits people on the back and post unglam stuff .. .. .. ..

I, for one, never thought mich to be DEMURE :D

My dad said he enjoyed the 5-day obs so much in his younger days that he was inspired to try the 21-day one. BUT DID HE? Nope, he DID NOT.

But shows that obs, when viewed positively, can be a really enriching experience. However, i hope that we can get to bathe after every dirt-filled day.
