Romeo + Juliet

Watched an adaptation of William Shakespeare's Romeo + Juliet. It was starring Claire Danes and Leonardo DiCaprio. It was my mum's idea. It was set in the 1990s, but the characters still spoke in the medieval way : such as 'thou', 'thee', 'hast', 'wilt'... you know, that kind of thing. I tried to sit through it and not look too bored. It was hard to catch what the characters were saying, except for the few words above, and a few more. Anyway, it ended like in the book, really cliched and all. Juliet takes the potion that will make her sleep and make her look as if dead, so she can run away with Romeo and not have to marry someone else. The priest sends Romeo the message telling him that, so he can elope with her in the night. Everyone thinks Juliet is dead, and places her in the chapel, instead of in her tower. Romeo hears the news and buys a bottle of poison. He comes to the chapel, takes the poison at the moment Juliet wakes and dies before her very eyes. So, she takes his gun and shoot herself, hence dying as well. Quite a good effort though. Recommended for all Shakespeare's fans who desire for his works to be put into modern sequence.
